A Free12-Hour Business Workshop Marathon For Future Female CEOs

Sharmadean Reid has been asked to take part on more “female business” panels over the years than she can remember, but still thinks there is more to be done to teach the next generation of female talent about business.

This October, she launches FutureGirlCorp - a free one-day workshop marathon at Huckletree in Shoreditch. Powered by Johnnie Walker, the event’s principle partner, FutureGirlCorp will provide a structured and inspirational programme of seminars and workshops designed to give 100 young women the information they need to hone their business idea and develop their proposition.

Now has never been a better time for women to become entrepreneurs and we want to encourage this next generation of female business leaders to think bigger. In this fast moving landscape, winning big is what matters and FutureGirlCorp believes it's important to educate this audience to understand strategy, business modelling, finance and marketing to build global corporations, not kitchen table ones.

100 girls will be chosen to attend this incredible one day workshop through an application process by a judging panel. Whether you simply have an idea you want to explore, or are in the early stages of your business and want some support, this FREE event will give you invaluable skills to help you gear your mindset to the next level.

Apply by submitting your epic business vision on a single page PDF file. A judging panel will assess each application and those selected to attend will be notified no later than 1st October.

Sharmadean Reid, Founder of WAH London said:

“I started WAH by accident, had to learn on the fly and made tonnes of mistakes along the way. I am passionate about economic empowerment for women and FutureGirlCorp is my way of helping the next generation of female business entrepreneurs get off to the best possible start by providing them with the skills and advice to ensure they don’t make the same mistakes I did. Nearly all our speakers are millennial women who have gone on to be successful in business and I want to show the next generation that they can go out and succeed!”

Leila Fataar, Head of Culture & Entertainment, Diageo for Johnnie Walker said:

“In the early 19th century, from humble beginnings in Scotland, a young grocer named John Walker was on a mission – to produce whisky consistently great in flavour and taste for his customers. So he began to blend whiskies from the time together, until he produced one he was proud to put his name to. Not happy with simply providing his whisky to the local market, he redesigned the traditional rounded bottle into a rectangular shape to travel better, and quickly, Johnnie Walker was exported globally. Quite a feat in those days. Fast forward to 2016, these entrepreneurial characteristics and ability to adapt to an ever-changing world, can be found in Sharmadean Reid, founder of FutureGirlCorp and the first of Johnnie Walker’s Cultural Master Blenders Series. We are proud to be partnering with Sharmadean and FutureGirlCorp, a programme designed to give young women the knowledge to grow their businesses on a global scale. This truly embodies the spirit of Johnnie Walker: that of inspiring personal progress through the love of what you do.”
