OUR 2017 PROGRAMME GETS a RINSE & REPEAT THANKS TO THE NEWLY LAUNCHed FOUNDATION.FM - A RADIO STATION LED BY WOMEN to improve representation in RADIO & MUSIC
This week futuregirlcorp had their first episode on Foundation.fm, a station based in Peckham that looks to change the status quo in mainstream radio by championing & highlighting talent from minority background on their station.

If you’d like to hear how foundation.fm got started from the founders themselves have a listen to our show or read THIS , but basically it came to being thanks to a gap in the market. Frankie, one of the three co-founders, lost her job in the fall of Radar Radio making a space for a new underground radio station & one that will better represent women. Thanks to guidance & encouragement from her friend & fellow co-founder Becky, Frankie turned loss in to an opportunity.
With enough talent in their network to fill a 5-day schedule of shows, Frankie & Becky got creating Foundation.fm & looped Ami in on the ride to add her content knowledge, contacts, & lol vibes (ref the show, babes x). 7 months in, they have investment under their, a fully-functioning office/studio, & pretty amazing station.
(mate, wish we had these gals at our Capturing Press Attention panel 😅)
🌐 How we met
How did we manage to get a space on some of the hottest radio real estate? Nothing but a case of good ol’ serendipity ...
Emily (Chapps) met Ami at a Lava La Rue in Dalston thanks to a last minute invite from fellow Foundation.fm DJ Lauren Arch. A cuppa with the three founders a month later, the ‘Future Girl Corp Show’ on foundation.fm was a tingggg
truly, you can network anywhere
🚺 Chat & Tunes
We’re one episode down & got 10 to go….
For our first show we started with #VISION. We covered the basics of then took it into conversation with Ami, Becky, & Frankie. We also played Venture vs Venture (one of the several features to come) where we compared Spotify & Apple Music to decipher which is the best.
Emily will be hosting the show. Though she’s not had a business (yet) & still fresh to the working world, she’ll be using what she’s picked up from fgc events over the past two years & interviewing expert guests to give to the best business knowledge about on the topics below:
DIVERSITY & Inclusion
So excited to keep the fgc fam informed, growing, & POPPIN’ each month. Make sure to tune in & hit us up if you have any ideas, content or stories you want us to share on the ‘Future Girl Corp’ show.
